Job Responsibilities:
1. Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks on various heavy equipment such as CNC machines ,wheelset changers, overhead cranes, bogie systems, and other machinery.
2. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the proper functioning and safety compliance of mechanical systems and components.
3. Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques, and implement corrective actions to address equipment malfunctions and minimize downtime.
4. Install, assemble, and disassemble mechanical components and systems, following technical specifications, blueprints, and maintenance procedures.
5. Maintain specialized equipment such as bogie test stands, underfloor wheel lathes, air compressors, forklifts, scissor lifts, and vacuum machines for maintenance and repair tasks.
6. Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel to coordinate maintenance activities, optimize equipment performance, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
7. Assist in the assembly, disassembly, and relocation of heavy equipment, including wheelset changers, bogie assemblies, and lifting systems, as required.
8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or manual logs.
9. Follow safety protocols and procedures while working with heavy machinery, hazardous materials, and elevated work platforms, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
10. Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise to facilitate their skill development and proficiency in heavy equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification; vocational training or certification in mechanical technology or a related field is preferred.
2. Proven experience as a mechanical technician or maintenance technician, preferably in heavy equipment or industrial settings.
3. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems and components.
4. Knowledge of mechanical principles, tools, and techniques used in equipment maintenance and repair, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics to understand equipment layout and configuration.
6. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting mechanical issues.
7. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating adaptability, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
8. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring manual labor, lifting heavy objects, and working in confined spaces or elevated platforms.
9. Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations applicable to heavy equipment maintenance, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hazardous materials handling.
10. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on new technologies, equipment models, and maintenance techniques.
